One of my turns...

This is what making a film does to you. Don't do it kids!

I'm coming to the end of my degree and putting in the hours trying to get everything finished. Thus this blog is finally going live. I thought I'd start things off with a self portrait which was taken just after I shaved my beard off, for the first time in five years. I originally took it to scare my mum with.

I was having terrible trouble getting the edit done a college, their machines just couldn't cope. But thankfully a mate was able to get me into Breathe Post Production's FCP grading suite for the weekend, and I have a finished edit. Now for the music...

I have finally finished my film, of at least the version for my degree, which was handed in yesterday. I'm going to keep working on this project, hopefully extending it to become a 15-20 min piece with wholly new music.

Watch the film...

Where is My Music?

I've been struggling to find time to do any photography, with exams looming and so forth. Felt I should put something up, even if it isn't that inspiring.

As I was round at a friends, keeping him company while he was holding the baby, I thought I'd take a few pictures of little Sophia. For some reason I decided to use the Hasselblad with the Leaf back, just because I could I suppose. Bad decision! It's not easy to focus one of these things on a fast moving target like Sophia, in low light and at maximum aperture. As a result most are miles out of focus. There is perhaps a few others that are in focus and more obvious baby portraits than this. But I kind of like this one. She does come from a musical family after all.

Her Crazy Wardrobe

This is part of an ongoing series (which I'm sure will show up here again) to document my mate Charlie's crazy wardrobe. Again I've been trying to use the Hass in situations where auto focus would be very handy. As a result most of the shots are out of focus, but a few are sharp enough. This is probably my favorite but there is one or two more I like.

Her Crazy Wardrobe II

As I put up a picture of Charlie with a bit of a grungy look I thought I should redress the balance and put up one of her looking somewhat more glamourous. This was taken a few weeks ago so it's strictly cheating but I'm busy trying to learn about catadioptric lenses and MRI scanners. Aint really got time to take pictures... I think Duncan's picture sums up how I feel about photography right now.
